A Predictable Fall Color Obsession

Every fall (or autumn if you live in other parts of the world) I seem to be attracted to the same color and as luck would have it the color is impossible to describe. The color is this perfect dark wine, berry, deep red, burgundyish color. Depending on the product sometimes it pulls a bit more purple while other times it tends to be a bit dark red, almost black. Here are a few of my current favs…

MAC Rebel – Everyone has this right? This fall was my first purchase of this lipstick. I feel like it’s the right of passage in the autumn and fall winter season. On my skin this is the perfect blend of red & purple. It complements the green in my eyes and my neutral skintone.

Essie Soul Mate – Fall would not be the same for me without this nail polish. If you can tell by the picture I’ve already used 20% of the bottle. I reckon that I will finish it up in the next year or so which will be my first nail. polish. ever. I’m pretty sure I wore this for 20 days straight and feel like it’s calling to be on my nails again.

Bite Beauty Mulberry – When you compare this lipstick to MAC Rebel, there isn’t much difference. If anything Mulberry leans a bit more red in my opinion whereas Rebel is a bit more purple. The formula of this Bite Beauty lippy is divine and very hydrating.

Nails Inc Kensington High Street – This nail polish is a beautiful dark merlot color. Out of the bunch it has the most red and therefore I feel it would be an excellent Thanksgiving dinner color. The formula is very thick and high shine.

Nars Audacious Lipstick in Janet – Well everyone swooned over these lipstick formulas and for a good reason. I remember when I first swatched this lipstick I’m pretty sure I let out an audible “whoa.” It is without-a-doubt the creamiest, most pigmented lipstick I have ever used. This color is a bright and intense red/purple for the days when you need a pick-me-up.

Nails Inc NailKale – This nail polish is Kensington High Street’s purple sister and I find it very similar to Essie Bahama Mama. The bottle stumped me on first application so don’t forget to pull the silver off to reveal the actual applicator. Overall, a great addition to my color favorite family and one of my current favs.
